Chris Vasquez
ChFC®, Senior Advisor Associate

Chris joined Lucien, Stirling & Gray in March of 2014 after spending the first four years of his financial career with a major insurance company. “I considered myself fortunate that I found a career that I was passionate about in the first place,” Chris says. “But with Lucien, Stirling & Gray, I was invited to join a team of fiduciary professionals who have helped me take it to an entirely new level.”

Born and raised in Austin, Chris put himself through college at the University of Houston, receiving a BBA Degree in Finance in 2010, and proudly walking the stage with no student loan debt. During his college years he worked as an intern for a major insurance company in Houston, and then transitioned after graduation into a full-time role, gaining valuable experience in the analysis and evaluation of complex insurance plans, and developing a solid understanding of core financial planning principles.

Especially adept at empathetic listening and developing rapport with others, Chris also has a natural affinity for pouring over intricate financial details. These skills have made him a valuable member of the Lucien, Stirling & Gray Team as a Senior Advisor Associate. “Most of my time is now spent working closely with established clients to develop a clear understanding of what is truly important to them, and why - and then tailoring long-term, goal focused plans to help navigate transitions and get them there.”

Chris also enjoys helping young families save money for college, plan to buy a house, and prepare for all the financial transitions they will eventually face. He and his wife Christin are travelling that path themselves. With two young daughters, they are purposeful about building family wealth and family memories, and purposeful about the values they are instilling in their children. They enjoy the daily moments of spontaneity that parenthood brings, as well as the disciplined planning that long-term success requires.

“I get a sense of fulfillment from showing people how to improve their financial situation, which then impacts the rest of their lives in profound ways. I definitely thrive on helping our clients master complex financial details that they do not understand or that cause them anxiety. The real world is a tough and unforgiving place, and my job is to help investors navigate it. I love being a problem solver.”

In his spare time, Chris loves to listen to podcasts and volunteer at his church, and he enjoys training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
