Chaney Barton – Nichols

Marketing Director

chaney-barton-headshotChaney Barton – Nichols relocated to Austin from the Bryan/College Station area and joined Lucien, Stirling & Gray in early 2015.  A proud native of northeast Texas, Chaney attended Texas A&M University and received a Bachelors of Business Administration Degree in Marketing with a minor in Journalism Studies and her Certificate in Advertising in December 2013— completing her program in only 3.5 years.  While in college she served as an editorial writer for a Brazos Valley area magazine.  It was in this role where she became truly passionate about writing from an advertorial standpoint and where she developed the talents she uses every day at Lucien, Stirling & Gray.  She stayed in the College Station area for one year after graduation and worked as the Advertising Sales Assistant at a local television station.
“At first I didn’t know how my experience would translate into the financial industry,” Chaney says, “but I work alongside a team of professionals that encourage me and inspire my creativity every day.  Now I am enjoying the challenge of helping to promote a service that is so important to people, but also so intangible.”

Within the Lucien, Stirling & Gray team, Chaney found her fit very quickly.  “I have already played a big part in improving some of the most important communication tools for clients – the monthly ENewsletter and the website.  Taking on these large scale projects has been exciting,” Chaney says.  “The message at Lucien, Stirling & Gray aligned with my own personal values and prompted me to seek a career here.  Knowing my role focuses on finding unique ways to get the same message out to others has been both enjoyable and rewarding.”

Chaney has already plugged into the Austin community and is active in the Gamma Phi Beta Sorority Alumna Chapter of Austin.  She is also interested in animal welfare and as former foster/volunteer, hopes to find an organization where she can continue doing her part to save homeless pets.  Alongside her high school sweetheart/new husband and their trusty rescued terrier, Baxter, Chaney spends her spare time traveling at every opportunity, exploring Austin’s outdoor scene, cooking and baking, cheering on the Texas Aggie Football team, and visiting family in northeast Texas.
